Explicit content & parental advisory
Got strong language or mature themes in your track?
No worries!
Jumpstr helps you mark your release properly so everything stays compliant with store guidelines (and parents stay happy too).
How to Mark Explicit Content
When uploading your track, you'll see a simple question:
"Explicit Lyrics?"
You can select:
- Yes – if your song contains strong language, violence, mature themes, or anything that may not be suitable for younger audiences.
- No – if your track is completely clean and safe for all ages.
Just pick the right option — it’s quick and easy!
What Counts as Explicit Content?
- Strong or offensive language
- Sexual references
- Violent themes
- Drug/alcohol references
- Anything considered unsuitable for a general audience
Even just one or two words might require the “Explicit” label — better to mark it just in case!
Why It’s Important
- Streaming platforms (like Spotify, Apple Music) require correct labeling.
- Incorrect labeling can lead to your track being removed, hidden, or blocked.
- It also protects listeners and ensures your release is professionally handled.
Quick Tip:
If you’re unsure whether your song is explicit, it’s always safer to select "Yes".
Stores prefer being cautious — and it won't affect your chances of success!
