How to Rerelease or Remaster a Track with Jumpstr?
Want to give your music a second life with better sound, new artwork, or updated metadata?
Jumpstr supports rereleases and remasters — but to avoid upload issues or content restrictions, it's important to follow the right order of steps.
Before You Upload: Complete the Takedown First
Due to verification checks, uploading a rerelease before the original version is fully taken down will likely result in a rejection or restriction.
Make sure the original release has been removed from all platforms before reuploading. Here's how to do it the right way:
Step-by-step: Reuploading a rerelease or remaster
1. Request takedown from your current distributor
Ask your previous distributor to fully remove the original release.
Wait until the takedown is reflected on all platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) before proceeding. Screenshots or DSP links confirming removal can help avoid delays.
2. Log in to your Jumpstr account
Go to app.jumpstr.io and sign in.
3. Create a new release
Click "Upload Release" on your dashboard. Treat this as a new release — even if it’s based on previous material.
4. Upload your updated audio
Ensure your remastered tracks meet Jumpstr’s audio format guidelines and upload them here.
5. Use updated or consistent metadata
You can reuse the same song and artist names, but we recommend making clear it's a new version:
- Add “(Remastered)” or “(2025 Rerelease)” to titles
- Update cover art or credits if changed
- Set a new release date that reflects the rerelease
6. Submit for review
Once all info is complete and files are uploaded, hit Submit. Your rerelease will go through our usual review process.
Why follow this process?
Uploading before a takedown is complete can trigger content verification errors and delay your release. Doing it in the right order ensures:
- No rejections or restrictions
- A clean release history
- Better visibility and stream eligibility
